Heather Renee Post's Song a Week for 1 Year!!!
SONG # 40 – WHIRLWIND
This week's song is about falling in and out of love. There are times when, like a whirlwind, we get swept away by someone. It can be quite magical, especially at the beginning. Have you ever felt love at first sight? Did your love last or was it short lived?
SONG # 39 – MOVING ON
Many of you know that I used to sing with my Sister Rebecca in a group we called CEYLON. This week’s song is a song I wrote when we were still singing together. It is called “MOVING ON.” A Maryland based producer from NightFlight Studios, Silvio Pasaric, produced the track for us years ago. I always loved the way it came out so I decided to use his production and re-sing over it instead of re-producing it entirely. I added a few of my own personal touches to give it new life but it is pretty much the same as the original.
I was an Army brat and moved every 2-3 years. This song is about my struggle to maintain friendships and dreams despite our many travels.
SONG # 38 – BLEEDING HEART
This week as I was working on an entirely different song I suddenly heard the words to "Bleeding Heart" in my head and I had to stop to record the melody. As if led by some mysterious force I couldn't stop working on it and found myself completely taken over by the song. The words are simple but everytime I hear them they make my heart flutter with emotion. It always amazes me how a song, even one that I have written, can move the soul.
Many artists feel as though their inspiration comes from higher forces and in moments like this I am reminded that I am not completely in control of my own creations. They definitely come from some place beyond.
SONG # 37 – SHY GUY
I absolutely adore the group Portishead. This week I decided to take one of my older songs (which originally had a much more upbeat melody) and turn it into a Portishead style song. I dedicate it to all you "Shy Guys" out there who hesitate on asking a girl out :) Don't be shy fellas. The worst thing she can say is no and if she does than shame on her!!! At least you'll know that it was by no fault of your own that it didn't work out.
SONG # 36 – THE PORCH
I really needed this week's song. I was having the rainy day blues and feeling sorry for myself so, I decided to lift myself up with a song. It is a little diddy called "THE PORCH" and it is about moving on from your troubles instead of wallowing in them. Does lift you up? I hope it puts a smile on your face like it did mine. Let's sing it..."Suga dah dah duh Sugadah dah duna duna dah..."
SONG # 35 – LET IT GO
This was written for a very good friend of mine who was having trouble moving on from a one sided relationship. I was hoping that the words would help her find the strength she needed to "Let him go." There have been many times in my life when a song helped through a rough patch. Have you ever found answers in a song? I'd love to know which song moved you and how?
SONG # 34 – HOLD ON
This week’s song is a new one. It is about how love changes after marriage and children. It can be challenging at times to keep a relationship fresh and fun when the stresses of finances, child rearing, and working come into play. Has your relationship changed after marriage and/or kids? What steps have you taken to “Hold On” to the love you had when you first started? My hubby and I don’t have kids yet but when we first got married we had to make some drastic changes to the way we were used to doing things. It was tough at first to manage our money and work as a team.
One of the things we do to keep our love fresh is to take a trip for our anniversary. It doesn’t matter where we go; we just make sure it’s at least a plane ride away from where we live. Doing this helps us break out of our environment and all the habits and rituals of our day to day and frees us to focus on each other for a change. Even if the money is tight, we go out of our way to celebrate our relationship at least once a year! I can’t wait to hear the things that you do to keep your love new!!!
SONG # 33 – REASSURANCE
Many of you know that I used to sing with my Sister Rebecca in a duet we named "Ceylon." When we first began singing together I was the only songwriter. After a few months of singing my songs she came to me and asked me to teach her how to write her own originals. I had just started a new song and had only written a few lines so I told her to try and finish it. I played her the melody and told her to just sing whatever words called to her. In about an hour we had a song and after a few minor tweaks "Reassurance" was born.
My Sister has written over 50 original songs since then and is currently working on recording her first album. I can't wait because I am her # 1 fan!!!
I dedicate this song to her in the hopes that it will give her the "Reassurance" she needs to finish her album once and for all. The words in this song are a little melancholy and are written to express the conversations we have with ourselves in order to feel some encouragement. Putting a project together to release to the world can be quite daunting. I know from personal experience. It's never easy to put yourself out there. I hope this song helps you realize that you are not alone in whatever fears you may have:) May you always find the courage to follow the dreams in your heart!!!
SONG # 32 – HAPPINESS
This week’s song is called “HAPPINESS.” It is about life’s challenges and how they can beat the childish spirit out of us if we are not careful. We are all just little babes trying to figure it all out. We don’t really know why we are here or what this thing we call life is all about but at least we are all lost together.
When I first wrote “HAPPINESS” I envisioned it as a heavy metal song. I never recorded it because it was so different from my sound. I wasn’t even planning on recording it this week but something inside me said to just get it out there once and for all. I tried to keep it as close to the way I imagined it so it has a much harder edge than my other songs. I’m really pleased with the way it turned out. We can all rock out together this week!!!
SONG # 31 – WAITING FOR YOU
My husband, Cristopolis, and I met in College when I was 20 and he was 21. It was love at first site for me, but he took a lot longer to realize that I was the one for him. LOL!!! In fact we didn’t get married until almost 6 years later!!!! The timing had never been right for us to be together.
My sister Rebecca married his best friend Roberto and at their wedding I finally decided to tell Cristopolis that I was in love with him. The bad part was that I was engaged to be married to someone else and was about to move with my fiancé overseas. Cristopolis was about to move to Miami to pursue his music career and I knew that if I didn’t tell him how I really felt that I would never have a chance again. I had been too afraid to say anything for fear of compromising our friendship. But it was now or never and I decided to tell him with a song.
This week’s song is a remake of the original version that I gave to him the night of my Sister’s wedding. It scares me to think of what my life would have been like had I not found the strength to tell him how I felt. Had I known at the time that this song would open the door to a future with him I would have written it for him a lot sooner. I’m just so glad that it was better late than never!!!
May you always find the strength you need to win the love you deserve!!!
SONG # 30 – BABE
Well I can’t believe it but it has been 30 weeks!!! Today’s song marks the completion of the second album. I will be working diligently to get Song a Week Vol. 2 packaged and mass produced by the end of next month.
This week’s song is called “BABE.” I dedicate it to our soldiers and their significant others who have to continually say goodbye to each other for extended periods of time. I grew up an Army Brat so we moved around a lot. My Father would have to travel almost every other week and his trips abroad often times lasted for several months. If you have a long distance love you just might relate to this one.
SONG # 29 – INSANE
This song was written in a time when I really believed that I was going insane. Thanks to the brilliant works of Eckhart Tolle I have discovered that I was just suffering from a gigantic Ego. I am happy to announce that I am fully recovered. At least that’s what the little voice inside of my head tells me:) LOL!!!
SONG # 28 – SAY TO ME
This week’s song is about a girl who knows that her relationship has come to an end but who hopes that in her final plea she can turn things around. The words are pretty self explanatory but this song was written at a moment when I was in this exact predicament. It’s always hard to let go, even when you know that it is time to move on. For anyone suffering with this situation right now, I hope this song helps you at least know that you are not alone :)
SONG # 27 – BAD NEWS
Okay so I’m on this super healthy kick. I’ve stopped drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes, eating meat, and even sugar!!! (I KNOW IT'S EXTREME BUT I'M DETERMINED TO LIVE FOREVER, LOL:) So as if that was not enough, I’ve decided to give up watching or reading about the news. I don’t read the little subway paper anymore, no more 20/20, I even changed my default web browser to www.happynews.com (It only features happy events). I don’t know about you but the news just seems so negative lately. I can’t even read the headlines because they give me anxiety. This week’s song is inspired by my mission to keep my thoughts uplifted. I call it “BAD NEWS”. But you can pronounce it “BAAAAAD News” (You have to say it in a little lamb voice:) So for those of you who are with me let’s sing it: When they turn it up you gotta turn it down, when they turn it on you gotta turn it off!!!!
SONG # 26 – VOID
This week’s song was never intended to be heard by anyone. It is a very personal song in which I ask those higher powers that be questions about my existence and try to find the point of life. It speaks of irony, struggle, destiny, and of the darkness within me trying to find the light. I sang it out a few times and had such an overwhelming response that I decided to record it for you all this week.
I was surprised to learn that the words really resonated with others even though they are quite cryptic and have meaning only to me (or so I thought). Does this song impact you? I’d love to hear what the words mean in your heart
SONG # 25 – LOVER
This week's song is an oldie but goodie for me. The lyrics are pretty straight forward. It's a song about...well...you know. The sideways Tango :)
I wrote it many years ago but was never able to record it the way that I envisioned it until now :) I wanted to keep it simple and sensual. I hope you like it. Does it put you in the mood? LOL!!!
SONG # 24 – SAY SO
This week's song was recorded at Quad Studios in Nashville, TN. It was produced and engineered by Mike Daniels and Denny Knight.
I wrote this song when I was in a relationship with a guy who was trying to break up with me by treating me bad instead of just speaking up and telling me the truth. Sigh...
It is always difficult to tell someone how you feel face to face. However, it really helps give a person closure to hear it directly from the source. I believe that even those truths which may hurt someone in the short term, will ultimately help them grow in the long term so don't be afraid to "SAY SO" :)
Have you ever been afraid to tell someone the truth? Has someone ever withheld the truth from you because they were afraid of hurting you, but hurt you more as a result?
SONG # 23 – NO NAME
As many of you know, I am of mixed race. I am Black, Native American, Sri Lankan, Portuguese, French, Irish, English...and those are just the one's I know about LOL :)
This week's song is about Black Americans. Having ancestors who were brought to this country against their will to be slaves is a sad truth that taints my bloodline. My great grandparents like so many other Black Americans were given their slave master's last name to bear as their own. They were stripped of their culture, language, faith, and even their very name. A lot of damage was done that is still trying to be undone. They were a people robbed of their dignity, and damaged psychologically in ways that I can't begin to imagine. I was inspired to write this after speaking to an Aunt of mine who traced our family bloodline back as far as she could. Sadly she could only trace it back a few generations because we have no record of our African Sir name.
I decided to use diverse sounds in the production to represent my diverse background. I used Native American styled drums, Classical piano and strings, African Marimbas, and Spanish guitar. I hope you like it :)
SONG # 22 – A CARELESS TRUTH
This week’s song is tainted by a very sad story. I wrote it with the intention of having some of the lyrics translated into Spanish. I enlisted the help of a very dear friend named William Ventura. He was kind enough to sit with me for hours, translating my English words to Spanish.
I immediately went out to record the song at a well known studio in Maryland called Night Flight. I worked with a very talented producer and engineer named Silvio Pasaric, who not only brought the song to life with his musical expertise, but helped me restructure the song so that it met “Pop” standards. He is an incredible musician and played Spanish guitar parts laced with melancholy drums to set the mood. It was a hit by my standards.
I will be including that version on the final Song a Week Album as a bonus feature.
Unfortunately, in restructuring the song, I lost a huge piece of the Spanish translation that William had worked so hard to create. Once I finished the final recording I was eager to share it with William so that he could hear the finished product for the first time. Calling him all through the day with no answer, I finally heard back from a family member that William had died in an untimely accident.
I don’t claim to know what happens to us after we leave this life but I can only hope that William’s beautiful spirit is living on. I re-recorded the song “A CARELESS TRUTH” using the original structure in order to include all of the Spanish words in William’s honor.
William Ventura…this one’s for you!!
SONG # 21 – CAST
This week’s song is one of my favorites. I’m not sure why I like it so much but the words still make me emotional even though the experience that led me to write it happened many years ago.
It is called “CAST” and it’s about rebound relationships. For those of you who have never experienced a rebound relationship, it is when either you or the person you are with has recently broken up with someone that they really cared about and entered into a new relationship to help themselves recover from the heartache.
In my case I was dating a guy who had recently broken up with a girlfriend of over 5 years. I didn’t know that I was a “CAST” at the time, but after a few months of dating I soon realized that I was just helping him heal from the previous relationship. Unfortunately for me, once his heart was mended he decided to move on. Sigh…
Has anyone ever experienced this? Maybe you were the one who needed a “CAST”. Either way, this can be a very frustrating experience for both parties involved but maybe it’s a necessary evil…
SONG A WEEK 20 - CIGARETTES & SMOKE
This week's song was written in a time when I regularly resorted to, not-so-nice methods, in order to cope with the pressures of life.
Life is not easy. I have learned, after much trial and error, that it is always better to take care of yourself in times of trouble than to resort to destructive methods. But that is much easier said than done. I now enjoy bubble baths in candle light, long walks through the city whenever I need to escape. It's a different kind of high but it still works :)
What do you do to alleviate stress?
SONG A WEEK 19 - SMILE
I love the quote: "Never cry over lost love, for the one who deserves your tears will never make you cry…"
I wrote this next song when I found out that my boyfriend "at the time" had cheated on me with another girl. I was enraged to say the least. I do refer to the girl in question as a "beeeaaatch" but only because she knew that he was not single at the time that they engaged in their little fling.
If any of you have ever been cheated on you will relate to it well. Sigh…
MY SONG DRIFTING IS IN A MOVIE!!!!
If you haven't heard about them already, you will! Arin Crumley and Susan Buice are two incredible filmmakers who have made a name for themselves through their unprecedented internet fanbase.
3 years ago, they made an independent film and promoted it through a series of webisodes illustrating their struggle to make it in the movie industry. They were kind enough to include my song "DRIFTING" in their grand finale episode 13, on their newly released DVD, and on the compilation cd which is included in the DVD set.
You can buy their movie exclusively at Borders nationwide.
Google "FOUR EYED MONSTERS" to learn more.
SONG A WEEK 18 - CATCH ME
This week's song is entitled "CATCH ME." It is about having someone there for you when you think that you can't go on. It is really appropriate because I had a really challenging week.
My computer completely crashed and I thought that I had lost all of my files for the song a week project. After spending 4 days at the MAC store I finally broke down and purchased a brand new computer only to find out that the program I use to record wasn't compatible with the new computer. GRRRR!!! So just when I was about to shell out another 2 thousand dollars to buy the new program, I was saved by Chris the MAC store genius!!! He was able to install the necessary updates to get my program working so that I can not only record again, but finally mix and master the songs for the album that will be released by the end of this month!!!
Thank you Chris!!! This week's song is for you :)
SONG A WEEK 17 - PRETTY BLUE EYES
This week's song was recorded in Jammin Java Studios. Jarred Bartlett played guitar and engineered the song. One of my favorite Maryland, based singers, Nile Garner, sang harmony.
I wrote this song for an ex-boyfriend. Though our relationship only lasted a season, this song still personifies that brief moment in time.
I hope you enjoy it !
SONG OF THE WEEK 16 – DC PARKING
For my birthday I decided to record in one of DC's most respected recording studios, LISTEN VISION.
I chose the song "DC PARKING" and worked with an incredible producer and engineer named Scotty Beam to bring it to life. He took my original recording and made a fantastic new and improved version. I look forward to doing more songs with him in the future.
Having lived in Washington, DC for over two years I have learned that the parking and traffic situation can be quite frustrating. I wrote this week's song entitled "DC Parking" after getting two, yes you read that right, two parking tickets on the same day. How did this happen you might wonder? Well, it all began so innocently. I parked in a space after carefully reading the sign (which can get really confusing let me tell you) and went to visit a dear friend. When I got back however, my car was missing in action. So after much panic and a slew of frantic calls, I finally learned that my car had been towed. I was furious because I had followed the instructions on the sign sooo carefully but yet my car had been snatched by the mean parking police. So I had to metro all the way across town to parking services to pay for my car only to find out that my car had been the victim of what they refer to in DC as a "courtesy tow."
This is when they tow your car in order to do street work but don't charge you for it because it was at no fault to you. The thing is that they move your car somewhere else without coordinating with parking services about the new location. So I had to trek back and wander the streets in order to find my car. I finally located it two streets from where I had originally parked with a big shiny pink ticket in my windshield. Yes, they had been so kind as to courtesy tow me to an illegal parking space!!!
Grrrr!!!!!
So I had to drive all the way back to parking services to dispute my new ticket. Again I read the signs carefully and went in to argue about the ticket only to wind up paying it in order to avoid the mountains of red tape they make you suffer through. So I left their office defeated and worn down only to find ANOTHER FREAKING TICKET on my windshield. I was not the happiest person in the world to say the least. LOL. I read the sign again and discovered that I had failed to see a little tiny clause that said I could park there any day from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EXCEPT Thursdays. Yes, sadly it was a Thursday!!! So after paying yet another ticket I came home and wrote this song. If you are ever in DC blast this song as you search for a parking space!!! At least you will know that you are not alone.
I share your pain!!!
SONG OF THE WEEK 15 – SOLD
This week's song is entitled "Sold." It is about a girl who was abused as a child and as a result, finds it hard to connect with people as she gets older. She eventually ends up working as a prostitute. Having learned to use her body and sexuality as a tool to get affection, she leads a lonely life, unable to find real love.
I recorded this song years ago in a studio called NightFlight based out of Maryland. It was produced into a more danceable track by Silvio Pasareck. Although the first recording was very popular, I decided to re-record it this week completely acoustic so that listeners could really hear the words. I hope you like it.
SONG OF THE WEEK 14 – SOMETHING CRAZY
I really love dance music. This week I wrote a new song called "SOMETHING CRAZY" and I decided to turn it into a dance track. The lyrics are pretty self explanatory, but I experimented with Canon and Ostinato Harmony parts.
Canons are often used in children’s songs like "Row, row, row your boat" or "Fara Jacques (are you sleeping.)" It’s when everyone sings the same tune but at different times. I use Canons in the beginning and end of the song. I also use an Ostinato Harmony phrase at the end of the song. An Ostinato is a short musical phrase sung over and over. In this case it is when I sing "Something Crazy" at the end.
This concludes your music theory lesson for the week LOL.
SONG OF THE WEEK 13 – MALADY
I am a huge Queen fan. Having discovered their music long after Freddy Mercury had died; I was traumatized to find out that my favorite male lead singer had left us too soon due to AIDS.
This week’s song is entitled "MALADY." I wrote it in honor of Freddy Mercury.
It is about someone who contracts the AIDS virus and unknowingly gives it to the love of their life. There were many times when I was careless and by the grace of God managed not to be stricken with any sexually transmitted diseases. It breaks my heart to know that some were not so lucky.
Finding true love is already hard enough. It just doesn’t seem fair that some people have to suffer graver consequences than others. It is a sheer tragedy that some of those consequences can even be fatal.
Freddy Mercury…this one’s for you babe. I hope you’re singing your heart out somewhere beautiful and that someday I get to hear you live!
SONG OF THE WEEK 12 – ELECTRIC CAR
About 2 years ago a movie came out on the independent circuit called "Who Killed the Electric Car?"
It is about the oil industry and the power it has over our economy. It shows how we have become enslaved by the oil moguls and their unending thirst for wealth. Technologies that could have expunged our need for oil are destroyed while we the people pay and pay for illegal wars, rising gas prices, and an environment on the brink.
This movie will shock you and if you haven’t seen it please google it online and check it out. It is a must see!!!
It really impacted me. I came home and wrote this song the same night I saw it. I call it "Electric Car." I hope you like it.
SONG OF THE WEEK 11 – HELLO STRANGER
This week’s song is entitled "Hello Stranger." It is one of the first songs I ever wrote. Gosh that means it’s over 10 years old…Wow!!!
Many of my fans, who have been there for me since the beginning of my music career, have been asking if I could record this song. It has been the most requested song I’ve ever written so naturally I was a bit nervous about putting it out. I hope this lives up to your expectations :)
The song is about running into an old flame. Many times someone who at one time meant the world to you, and you to them, can completely drift away. All the memories and time spent thinking that you could never live without them fades with time and if you were to meet again you could find yourself standing before a complete stranger.
Sara, Marissa, Rebecca, Genevieve, Anne, Nile, Maria, Marty, Patrick, David, Mom & Dad, this one’s for you!!!
SONG OF THE WEEK 10 – WICKED LITTLE WORDS
I have been recovering from Anxiety and Panic Disorder. I say recovering because I have been rewiring my brain in order to eliminate it from my life completely. After much research, over-priced therapy, and lots of drugs, I have come to realize that I have the power to cure myself.
This week's song is entitled "WICKED LITTLE WORDS" and it's about negative thinking and how the thoughts in our heads can overwhelm us into depression, anxiety, panic, and even complete insanity if we're not careful. It is a new song that I wrote this week. I used my voice to represent most instruments and layered it throughout the track in order to represent the many thoughts that fill our minds both externally and internally.
If you have ever experienced anxiety or suffer from panic attacks you are not alone. I'm always here for you if you ever need to talk or just vent.
SONG OF THE WEEK 9 – LITTLE SMILES
I believe in soul mates and soul connections.
My Dad is a retired Colonel from the US Army so I moved around a lot. I was in a new school almost every year until I was 21.
If any of you happen to be a military brat this is a website you have got to check out:
www.militarybrat.com
The man behind that website, Marc Curtis, has been kind enough to promote my music for many years. Check out what he wrote about me here:
http://militarybratsregistry.blogspot.com/
In all of my many travels I have learned a little secret. I discovered that I could instantly tell who my new friends and lovers would be by the way they smiled at me. In every new classroom I would look around the room and the first person who smiled at me would always and I mean ALWAYS end up becoming someone special in my life.
This week's song is entitled "Little Smiles" and it's about how I trace my destiny through the kindness of strangers.
Have you ever experienced this?
Just to let you know…I'm smiling at you!
SONG OF THE WEEK 8 – PRESSURE
This week's song is entitled "PRESSURE." It is about a girl who wants her lover to know that she wants to be with him, without making him feel too obligated. She is battling her own desire to win his affections without pushing him too hard. I wrote it during a time when I was pursuing a lover who didn't know at the time that I was the one for him LOL!!! Luckily he came around.
I wanted this song to sound like one of my favorite Elvis songs called "Marie's the name of his latest flame." Did I pull it off?
SONG OF THE WEEK 7 – WELL
This week's song is entitled "WELL". It is really appropriate because I have been recovering from the flu from HELL so this will be my ode toward getting better :)
I wrote it at a time in my life when I was having serious self-love issues. Having spent most of my teenage life as an outcast, I always felt unworthy of love and would often; mold myself into the type of girl I thought people wanted instead of just being myself.
I suffered through a very one sided relationship for 2 years before I finally broke it off with my guy. I felt really bad about losing him and was dying at the thought of never seeing him again. This song "WELL" was born from that heartache.
Despite the pain I endured, writing this song really helped me cope with the loss. I hope it helps you the way that it helped me.
If you can relate, I'd love to hear your story. If you are comfortable enough to share it with all of us, leave it as a comment on my blog or myspace page.
SONG OF THE WEEK 6 – BRAILLE
Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!! I hope your week is filled with love and happiness :)
Music is one of the most powerful forms of communication. A song can paint a picture in the mind that is just as clear as a photograph. It can break down the barriers that people often put up, which keep them from receiving messages, and penetrate both the heart and mind. You can often say in a song, things that you would never dare utter without the safe confines of a melody.
This week's song is entitled "BRAILE." It describes the way that music comes to me. Many times when I write I feel almost as though my fingers are reading the notes on the fretboard of my guitar like Braille letters. I believe that music can be a window into a person's soul.
What do you see in mine?
SONG OF THE WEEK 5 – CHILDREN IN A BOX
I don't believe in war. I do not believe that there is ever just cause for murder or violence upon another soul. I believe that great change can be made peacefully as we have seen through incredible leaders like Jesus Christ, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., and Nelson Mandela, to name a few. With that said, this week's song is entitled "CHILDREN IN A BOX" and it is about the war in Iraq.
I will not mention the fact that this war is completely unfounded and that the President should be impeached for the misuse of our Soldiers in this illegal invasion upon an innocent country…oops did I say that?
This song is about the fact that our human race continues to destroy itself by way of arrogance. Arrogance is ego + ignorance. This means that we continually react instead of sitting back to analyze and address the real root of the problem. We let our ego lead us instead of our intellect.
The only reason why we have not come together peacefully as one World is because we choose to disagree on most things. However, this is a challenge for the mind and NOT the fist. Our ability to think is our greatest asset and force. We do not need weapons to make change. With the power of our minds, anything is possible.
SONG OF THE WEEK 4 – FLORIDA
This week's song is very personal. It is called "FLORIDA" and it is about a girl who was brutally raped and then blamed for the crime because of what she was wearing during the incident.
There are many broken souls in this world in desperate need of love. Sometimes the only way they know how to get the attention they need is through violence or by hurting others. If you have been a victim of a dejected person, I hope you know that you are not alone.
I am no stranger to this kind of heartache. If you ever need someone to talk to, vent with, or just confide in…I am here for you.
SONG OF THE WEEK 3 – BREAKING HER HEART
This week's song is entitled "Breaking her Heart". It is about a guy who isn't really in love with the girl he is dating but chooses to lead her on into a one sided relationship. He likes the feeling of being needed by her and encourages her to pursue him even though he knows he is not in love with her.
It is always a boost to the ego when someone falls in love with you, but it is our responsibility to avoid taking advantage of others. If you are ever in a situation where someone is in love with you, please don't lead them on. Treat them the way you hope to be treated if the tables were turned. Honesty is the best policy when it comes to matters of the heart. You will lead a much happier life if you live by this.
May love be with each and every one of you.
SONG OF THE WEEK 2 - LOVE
This week's song is entitled "Love". It is a brand new song that I wrote for you this week. I plan to use it as my anthem from now on. As many of you know, love is my message and I use my music and writings as messengers to spread it to the world.
I believe that LOVE is the blueprint to our design. It is a connective substance that compels us to unify with other people; the inner coding that guides us to what is good v.s. bad (for us).
Love is relative to each individual. This is why it is sooo important to know yourself. If you don't know what you want in life and aren't in touch with your inner "LOVE" then it will be that much harder for you to find those people and things that will fulfill your life.
When we feel love for something or someone it is because that person or thing fits in with our perception of what should be. They or it, fit into our picture of the world, our measure of happiness, and our well being.
We are all puzzles and everyone and everything around us is a puzzle piece. If you try to put a puzzle together without a picture of what the final product should look like it can take you forever to get it right. You may even find yourself forcing puzzle pieces together that aren't meant to be.
Let this new song inspire you to get in touch with yourself this New Year. Look inside and find the picture on your puzzle box. As you meet new people, start new relationships, and move through this life, you will be better suited to know which pieces go together to make up your destiny!
SONG OF THE WEEK 1 - BOY
Happy New Year to all of you!!! I wanted to kick 2008 off with something new because 8 is my favorite number and I believe that this will be the best year yet!
I will be releasing a new song every week until 2009. That means in one year I hope to release over 50 songs for your listening pleasure!
Each song will be available for download off of my myspace player for free for 1 month. After which time the song will be moved down to my snocaps player for purchase at $0.99. This will be an opportunity for you to get tons of my music for free if you download it in time.
The first song of the week is called "BOY". I wrote it after meeting a girl who was so beautiful that I wanted to ask her out! If this has ever happened to you please tell me your story. In my 29 years of experience I have found that Love can be found where you least expect it :)
May this New Year bring you good health, wealth, and continued success in all that you do. May your heart and mind stay open to love. Many times the one you've been searching for is right before your very eyes.
Please let me know your thoughts about this new song. Can you relate? Are you offended? I want to hear it all.
Sending love your way,
Heather Renee
